This personal project involved developing a reusable container for store-bought rotisserie chickens. The goal was to create a practical resusable solution that is a household need. My contributions included desgining the product, developing the logo and packaging, taking product photos, and creating supporting infographics. The product is now being sold on Amazon and can be viewed with here.
This goal of this project was to reverse design a small plastic enclosure, surface model it, and 3D print it to fit with its original mated housing. I chose a small Sony speaker. I started by 3D scanning my part to get a mesh, which I used as a reference while I surface modelled it in SolidWorks. I cross-referenced the mesh with my own measurements of the real product. This project involved desgining a part out of aluminum to machine in Fusion 360 using a variety of toolpaths to create contoured surfaces. Our team designed a simplified chess board that incorporated all of the required features: a flat bottom pocket, concave feature, drilled hole, convex feature, angled surface, fillet (not XY plane), and engraving. Some of the operations we used included adaptive clearing, scallop, radial, horizontal, drilling, chamfer, and engraving. This was a project that was completed in a team of four. Stoke is a workbook that is part of a larger system designed to foster connection beyond social, language, and confidence barriers. Research conducted at the Rideau-Rockcliffe Community Resource Centre (RRCRC) revealed that people often connect through shared learning experiences, regardless of language or experience barriers. In response, the workbook was designed as a flexible, hands-on learning tool that supports skill building while encouraging contribution and interaction. As part of a broader system taking place in a third space of the community center our group desgined a system of storage, skill kits, workbook, workspace, and material library. I designed the workbook to help facilitate low-pressure participation. Its adaptable binding allows pages to be added or removed, supporting evolving content, while its local production through community workshops reinforces sustainability, collaboration, and community involvement.
In 2025, I had the opportunity to enter a merch design competition between my program and I was fortunate enough to win with my design. As Vice President of Special Projects at the time, I was responsible for sourcing the merchandise and overseeing the production process.
Through this experience, I learned the importance of cost analysis and selecting a supplier. The supplier’s blanks were priced too high to generate profit. I applied what I learned from this toward’s this year’s merch desgin, which turned out to be much more profitable and afofrdable
